11AM to 5PM – Opportunity finding | Design brief/plan of action/proposal
Individual Teams work among themselves to brainstorm and understand the issues connected to the problem. The work product of this activity can take the form of brainstorming/mind maps, narratives, storyboards, simple research maps, and other notes from the team’s discussions. Individual teams should also work to create proposals based on the opportunities they have brainstormed. These proposals should answer the design brief that they have created. The work product of this session should be short, descriptive proposal consisting of an opportunity statement and several bullet points that describe the solution. Teams may present up to 3 proposals PROVIDED they are short and to-the-point.
Throughout the day, teams may approach faculty who will be floating around for with ideas or short overviews of their team proposals for feedback. Faculty can ask a few clarifying questions and make some suggestions as to ways teams may strengthen the proposals based on scenarios and notes.

Faculty members will meet with the teams. Teams may present proposals. Shorter presentations will allow for more interaction with reviewers.

6PM to 10PM – Respond/plan/propose again
Individual teams should work to respond to the feedback they received from faculty members they should refine proposals based on their discussions with faculty and each other. These proposals should answer the design brief that they have created. The work product of this session should be a SINGLE short, descriptive proposal consisting of an opportunity statement and several bullet points that describe the solution.

At days end, post a 250 word summary and 5 images to the Nexus Maximus Blog. Save & title work like this example:

Saturday, October 12
10:00AM – 10:00PM
Day 2

Saturday is all about refining a concept

10AM to 4PM – Student teams begin work | Concept proposal development
Individual teams should work to refine solutions proposed. Additional idea development may be needed to illustrate the opportunity and the concept for meeting the opportunity.
Individual teams should work to respond to the feedback they received from faculty members. They should develop proposals based on their discussions with faculty and each other. These proposals should add detail to answer the design brief. The work product of this session should be a SINGLE proposal that teams can act out as though they were part of the user group.

Workshops run from 10AM until 11:30 PM.

5 Minutes on the Mike with Mike!
This is an opportunity for any Nexus Maximus Participant to offer their perspective on what Civility means to them. 
Lead by Nexus Maximus Master of Ceremonies, Mike Leonard, you will have 5 minutes to make a brief statement about your point of view!

4PM to 6PM – Review with faculty – DEC Center – 2nd Floor
1 to 3 team members from each team show up at the pitching post (see list) to make the presentation and get go/no-go feedback from faculty reviewers. Shorter presentations will allow for more interaction with reviewers. (Please see your packet for your team’s read out time)

6PM to 10PM – Respond/plan/propose again

Sunday, October 13
10:00AM – 10:00PM
Day 3

Sunday is all about detailing and delivering a new idea proposal

10AM to 4PM – Regroup and reassign tasks | Conceptual refinement
This is an opportunity to practice and work on what is missing. Assemble concept components & information for presentation.

4PM to 5PM – Milestone Review
Teams meet with reviewers to present 80% completed concepts – 10 – 15 minutes and back to work.

6PM to 10PM – Respond/refine/propose again
Prep for poster session presentations on Monday.

Monday, October 14

Day 4

Monday is all about delivering your idea

10AM – Final work details and set up for poster session presentations
Individual teams should practice the 1-minute presentation that they will use to pitch their proposal. Teams will present in a Science Fair style.

11AM to 1PM – Present! Gallagher Athletic Center

1PM to 2PM – Awards Ceremony with refreshments
